Winter Solstice

I feel this has been more on my radar this year than it has in other years. The time for us, in New Zealand, that marks the longest night, and can be seen as a time for regeneration, recharging and reflecting.

What a six months to reflect on….. What were the things that you felt were positive about the lockdown, what did it highlight for you, what were the things you were determined to keep up, are you? What did it make you want to change? What has it forced you to look at or change?

Maybe actually it is the perfect time to take stock and make some decisions on how you want the rest of the year to look like and feel like.

Sometimes we don’t always know what it is we actually want to bring in, what some next steps might be, but if we focus on how we want to feel, we have a measure to work against. Does this opportunity/ option/ relationship/ connection align with how I want to feel, what my values are, what is important to me…

Here in Taranaki today, it has been a bright but very windy day, and after a late night with friends, and an early morning family quiz night, I have hunkered down. The body was tired, but the heart and mind wanted to get some things of old shifted, and make room for the new.

I am going to spend the evening now focusing on what is next for me, what I want to bring in, and what are some of those things I want to feel. This will probably be an ongoing process for me over the next week…

Here are some questions that I am going to base my thoughts around, and thought I might put them here incase you would like to join me.

*In the last six months, what has shown up as really important to you? Is that in your life as much as you want it to be?

*What over the last six months has made your heart sing? Or what have you realised over the last six months you have been missing or not getting enough of?

*What has angered you? Were you aware that that was a frustration for you? What is the story behind this?

*What have been your learnings from the last six months?

*What do you want the next chapter to look like? This can be the next month, three months, rest of the year, five years or big picture thinking….

*What would you like to finally get sorted out, get to the bottom of, get ticked off?

*What would you like to accomplish in the next six months?

*What would turn 2020 around for you?

I always remember someone at a New Year’s Eve Party saying rather than New Year’s resolutions they complete this sentence…. I would like to have less………in my life, and I would love to have more…….in my life.

Feel free to share your thoughts on this below…

For the rest of 2020, I would love to have less…… in my life, and I would love to have more……..in my life.

If you’re looking at the questions above and feeling really stuck, why not get in touch. This really is a time for change, and I would love to help you kick that journey off….
