My heart aches.
I have met some incredible men through my coaching and worked with some awesome ones this week.
My heart really does ache for what they have been through, what others have put them through and subsequently what they then put themselves through.
This country needs them to be their true authentic selves, to be the gentle men that they are.
They need to feel safe to do this. They need to stop having to endure the macho culture and expectations to harden up or take a concrete pill. They need to feel that they don’t have to ‘drink piss’ or ‘talk shit’.
We need to see their talents, their creativity, their amazing gifts.
This country needs their compassion, empathy and love.
Children need role models that show them this world can be safe, to show them hope and respect and that it’s okay for them to be themselves.
We need the peace keepers, the community builders. We need those who lead from the heart.
We need the artists, the musicians. the writers, the poets, the creatives.
We need those with green fingers, who look after the land, the environment, those that are at one with the outdoors.
We need their strength and understanding in our health service.
Our students need their wisdom, new ways and ideas in the classroom.
This country is beautiful but it is broken and it sure isn’t working with society as it is at the moment.
If you know a gentle man, a soul who may be struggling right now, please share this with them. Please reassure them to keep reconnecting with their light, their gifts, their passions, to embrace their uniqueness. Their time has come to shine.
