I hear so many gems throughout the conversations I have, I have felt drawn to share these and some others I pick up along the way. Here is the collection from January…
1. Don’t say other people no’s. I wrote more about that here.
2. Hold the vision, trust the process. So needed when the journey to the vision can be a tricky journey, doubts, fears and the red zone story reel can sure do what it can to sabotage even the most wanted of goals or visions. Having some trust and faith can help with facing the unknown.
3. Journalling is thinking by hand. A friend shared this in a conversation group I held, and I got her to repeat it just so I had it right! So simple but yes, often things come out in my journal that was definitely different to what was in my head at the time. If you are needing some inspiration, you will find fifty prompts here.
4. I use Spotify and I love how after a playlist has finished they play songs based on it. This is how I came across the song – One Less Day by Rob Thomas. I will leave you to google the lyrics and see if they resonate with you.
5. “I can’t wait to see you again.” Sent in a text message. How simple. Meant the world.
6. “You could not have everything: the whole wisdom of life amounted to that. Whatever you had was instead of something else.” A quote from Tessa Hadley’s book, Late in the Day, got me thinking how sometimes we can have regrets, we can want for something different, but we can never have it all, that doesn’t have to be a bad thing.
7. “Sometimes we need the oxygen of others…,” a friend and I were talking about times where we enjoy being amongst people but don’t necessarily need to be having particular 1:1 time or similar. That we get that feeling of connection from simply being around others.
8. “You are never too old to set another goal, or to dream a new dream.” My Dad brought this one to attention, wise words. What is something you have been putting off or maybe written off when actually it could still be possible?
9. I heard this song, look for the good by Jason Mraz during a live music session, such beautiful words. We are wired to spot the negative; it often used to mean danger back in caveman days. This song reminded me of the benefits of a gratitude practice, where we do spot the good, the beautiful, the cherished.
10. “I want to find somewhere to anchor my soul.” Beautiful words that were shared by a friend who sadly is no longer with us. Where do you get to anchor your soul? As someone that would often find themselves moving from one place to the next on to the next thing, to consciously or subconsciously find whatever it is I was looking for or needing, these words resonated so deep. Rest in love my friend.
