Do you ever find on Facebook or other platforms that often a similar message seems to be coming through from different avenues?  I’m not talking about those those cookie things that once you’ve done a search for something, you then see different advertisers showcasing what you have just been searching for, I’m talking about the messages the Universe sends.

Taking your journey alone was the message that I saw a few posts and memes on near the end of last week, and it got me thinking.  However much we surround ourselves with great people, and a supportive network, there are times that we need to walk our journey alone.

It is often said, and I have found it to, then when you are on the right path in life, the Universe aligns and different opportunities open up for us, the right people are introduced to us, collaborations form and synchronicity is at its finest.  However sometimes it is not all bells and whistles, it is not all fireworks and celebrations.

Sometimes we have people to share that journey with, sometimes people pop in for a short part of the journey, and other times, people deviate from our path altogether.

Being on your journey, is exactly that, your journey.  We have chosen our paths and with it comes the highs and lows, the good, the bad, the ugly.  But it is during these time when we are on our own that we can really use it to reflect, to see how far we have come, to embrace the solitude and give time to think, create and explore.

On Sunday, I saw why these messages have been popping up for me.  For some reason that day, feeling a million miles away from home, I felt very much alone that morning.  Two options, hanker down in bed, or to get out and explore.  So I decided to take the literal meaning of those messages and went out exploring the beautiful reserve near me that I hadn’t got to yet.

And it was beautiful, the sounds of nature, the quiet, the stillness, the solitude.  I didn’t come back all bouncing and happy, but a strong sense of freedom and calm had come over me, and a reminder of why I am here and that it is totally and 100% my choice to be here doing what I am doing….

Life is full of ups and downs as we know, and that will always be the case. Sometimes it will be people that I will reach out to, for company, support, a friendly ear.  But yesterday it was about that literal journey on my own in to nature, time to breathe, and having the tools to know what my soul and my body needed right there and then in that moment.

What do you do for time out, recuperation, recharging?  Do you have the right people around you that you can reach out to if that is what is required?  Do you embrace the healing powers of solitude and give yourself a regular dose of it?
